WHO defines Good manufacturing practices (also reformed as CGMP) as of that part of Quality assurance which ensures that products are consistently produced and controlled to the quality CGMP covers all aspect/ processes of manufacturing.
The principle of CGMP is that quality is built in to a product, and not just tested in to specifications. These are being produced by adopting same procedures under the same conditions each and every time.
Over 100 countries have incorporated the WHO-GMP provisions into their national medico legal laws.
GMP defines quality means for both quality production and quality controls. It has also legal & regulatory components covering responsibilities for distribution, contract manufacturing/testing, responses to product defects and complaints.
